Lazy Sunday

My favorite art store is now out of business, I did manage to buy about 50 lbs of paper, or enough to last me a few years, a lot of paper rolls, lots of bristol. pens and inks. Pretty much everything i use. Along with some very very nice glow in the dark screenprinting inks. for 4 dollars. which to anyone that knows anything about printing, is rediculous.

I was getting as much paper as i could when this older asian fellow waltzed in, i started talking to him, he's eighty, still painting and drawing, his wife was telling me that she thought he would be done by now, but he keeps going, he chuckled and said, Take it all, then commenced to take every single peice of paper out of every drawer and buy it, i stood in line as him and his wife pulled out chairs as the cashiers rang up the paper, it took well over 45 minutes, his daughters were there helping him. i was speaking to them for a while after, she kept on saying she thought he was done. he kept on chuckling, she asked me if i got anything good, i told her ive been back about 7 -8 times this past week, so yea, i got good things.

My girlfriend told me about paper, before i never knew about it, we did one of the most amazing peices of art that ive ever done in my lifetime on a big peice of paper she brought, she now owns that painting, it's right she keeps it until the sun doesnt shine anymore. Im happy she taught me the in's and out's of paper, it's not just wood pulp, the texture the weight, everything has somethign to do with the final product.

I chatted a bit with 2 more artists, one that kept on telling me my hair looked good, and grabbing my arm, which has been worked on in the last 24 hours so that was pretty painful and the other just got back from tempe, and telling how much boston sucks in the winter.

A collection of strangers.

Amazing what can happen on a sunday afternoon

WOrked on 2 more paintings for show and future shows. But dont know where i left my camera, will upload tomorrow.
