Hip Hop, Art and Korean joints.
Backstory: when i was 4 or 5 i got a boombox from a yard sale, inside was a tape on one side was the Shante the real roxanne. on the other side was busy bee. Fast Forward 20 years later and i got the opportunity to meet him. My introduction to hip hop so long ago and saying hello was pretty cool. (pictures to come a bit later)
Ended up going up to baltimore for the Wild Style Reunion. Met up with a few people i havent seen in a while and happy that everything is going on a good path for everyone. Ran into Mr Junction XXI whom ive looked up to stylewise for a while now who has a great clothing company coming along, along with supplies for your everyday whatever you want to call em. Click on the previous link to support a local artist and an all around cool guy. Lots of wall action going on as well and I Should have gotten there sooner, would have probably got a place to paint but i had no idea it would be an event like that.
Walking thru the venue a random bboy battle took place, kids ranging from ages 10 - 14 against the older generation. sure was funny and a great show of love and appreciaton.
The deejays were spinning the best beats and the encee's were rocking on the mic.
I'll be the first to say i think baltimore is a shithole of a place (per example, stepping onto a dead rat not once.. but twice in a 3 block radius) but last night it redeemed itself for even a few hours.
Show was great and after coming to the realization that both of us were delirious with hunger and lack of sleep we made it out to find a place to eat. after walking to find the yabba pot (hopefully show here soon) and realizing everything closes ass early on sundays we meandered thru the hood, thru the good areas and landed in an incredibly delicious korean restaurant.
You know it's a real place when you cant read anything on the menu.
It was one of the best places to eat and hopefully make some more treks out that way. I like talking about baltimore since i never know what will happen up there. it's a strange place. Kimchi, Seaweed and some tofu and broccoli, for the past few times we've hit the ace on asian restaurants.
Overall a good sunday afternoon spent supporting people ive admired for a time and getting my focus back on what i need to do and where i want to go.
181 on and on like a rolling stone.
