So i met dayna a few months ago,  i said hello in passing, but after getting to know her she's turned out to be something of a small wonderful. There's nothing like meeting amazing people and as a bonus turn out to be positive artists as well.

i had found a few photos of her and got her image in my head, and at her art opening asked her and she gave the go ahead, so i started it off and then i got invited to show at a new gallery in D.C. So this went perfect.

Like everything i do i started out with a sketch, i always have the hardest time trying to get the faces to look exactly like the person whom im painting. I sometimes think that part of my brain isnt as strong as the other, wether it be left or right one or the other is stronger. This is how it stayed for a week or so until i got invited to the show.

At this point i started to add all the letters, the concept was to have her hair be the entire alphabet, you can actually see smaller letters in this sketch but every line, is a letter.

 

Ive stated before that this point is where i get really scared. Dayna has dark curly hair that stands out, however i couldnt do what i normally do with that color, i havent worked it in enough and i didnt want to destroy what i had already going on so i decided to stick with what i know, i need to work darker colors into my work but will do that soon.

Heres a closeup of the linework i do, sometimes its very hard to take a good photo as many camera's dont take super super meg work, meaning i need to get a better one.

 This is the final. I loved this piece and putting it into the show i got many compliments and actually sold it! 

Ive been getting asked where the name of the piece comes from. Her initials make up most of my name so like any egotripping scribbler i had to throw it in there too.
